What's On My Phone Part 1
Thursday, March 23, 2017Hey there fellas!
Today I'm finally posting something that I have been planning to post for a looong time but didn't manage to do it for some reasons: I'm talking about "What's On My Phone".
Many people (probably mostly girls) are nosy like myself -- Yes, I'm not gonna lie. I like to know what other girls carry inside their bags, what's their make up bag essentials or what do they have in their phones. I can even spend hours in YouTube watching these kind of videos. I feel like knowing about these will let me learn more about the person. Perhaps I should do some sharing too which is why I'm doing this post.
Now back to What's On My Phone.
I have an android phone - always had an android ever since I started using smartphones. Reasons are:
- I prefer Android phones than Apple phones because they're extremely customizable (is that even a word?)
- iPhones are too exclusive. You can't even share files through bluetooth. Argh!
- There are a lot of free android mobile apps. And the things that I could do with it just seem like infinite.
- I don't have the money to buy Apple products. I just simply cannot afford them.
Anyways.
The phone I have is ALCATEL FLASH PLUS and I am loving every bit of it except the camera part. It works best when you take photos during daytime. Forget about taking photos at night, it's kinda useless. LOL. But I'm impressed with its 8MP secondary camera with auto focus. That's good enough for me. I got mine in black. I wanted the gold one unfortunately it wasn't available when I purchase the phone. If you want to know more about this phone specifications, CLICK HERE.
My phone automatically goes to sleep and locks up after 15 seconds (because I am that of a security freak, no shame) -- so I probably should start talking about my lock screen.
This is my lock screen. The photo you see there is our prenuptial photo shoot. You will see there my clock and right under it are the day, date and my alarm time for the next day. (FUN FACT: my alarm goes off everyday at 4AM - because I just like to wake myself up every 4 in the morning whether I'm going anywhere or not. I don't necessarily get up. I just wake up and spend 10 seconds to contemplate if I want to go back sleeping or finally get my sleepy ass off my bed.) You will also see 9 dots on my screen because I'm using a pattern for security. Then at the very bottom of the screen is my phone's option for an emergency call -- I've never really used that because I've never been in an emergency and if I ever will get into one, I will still probably do the pattern thingy to dial & call instead of using the emergency call option. Just because. :D
My wallpaper is a simple marble photo which I got from Line Deco for free. I used to have our prenuptial photo too as our wallpaper but naaah... that's too cliche baby. So I switched to this marble wallpaper instead.
After getting past the lock screen, there goes my home screen. At the very top is my clock . I arranged it this way because I like to be able to see & check the time right away. I do have a wrist watch, but I just feel the need to have a clock widget on my home screen in case I like to check the time on my phone instead on my watch. Which happens almost every single time.
Right below my clock is a calendar widget. Nowadays, I always find myself in situations where I need to check something on the calendar-- it's either my husband asked me about a specific date or just me counting off the days 'til my next OB-Gyn visit or monthly bill due date. I'm no good when it comes to remembering dates so having a calendar widget on my home screen is a must.
The grey bar below the calendar is my Keep widget. This mobile app is definitely useful. I have there my grocery checklist, To-buy list, some reminders, Things-to-do list, some important notes... and everything else you can think of. Then at the very bottom, just right below my Keep widget is my dock where I keep 4 apps that I often use: contact/phone log, Firefox, messaging app and google chrome because one mobile browser is just not enough. :D
WALLPAPER: Marble photo. Got it from Line Deco.
WIDGETS:
- Clock - Got this one from ZOOPER mobile app. It offers out of ordinary layouts for clock, date and weather widgets. PLus it's super customizable (there goes that word again) you will definitely love it.
- Calendar - This one is just a plain calendar widget from CALENDAR WIDGET and it is free to download. I call it 'plain' because it's not something where you can log or put reminders on. I do those things either on my Keep widget or on the pre-installed calendar app on my phone.
- Keep Widget - This is also free to download.
This is my second screen. I have only 2 pages including my home screen. But it's set up to 'scroll through' so whether you swipe left or right, you will end up in this page. The 4 apps on the dock do not change too because they are all that I need. In this page, you will see 11 folders that sorts out every app installed in my phone according to their purposes.
Folders:
- Tools -This is where I save all my utility apps.
- Data Organization - It has all the apps I use for organizing my data like emails, reminders, notes, etc.
- Social - You will find here my social media accounts. I have 11 apps in there but that's not the only online accounts I have though these are mostly what I use everyday. Yes, you can conclude internet is basically the social aspect of my life. Hahaha!
- Media - This is where I keep all my music and photography related applications. Including the tools for videography, radio, gallery and photo editing applications too.
- Assistance - It has 5 pre-installed mobile apps that ALCATEL provided to easily reach them out for assistance.
- Travel - I actually only have 3 map applications here (because one map is never enough, haha). But if ever we have to travel like during family weeks, I will probably download other travel related apps like for grabbing a taxi, jeepney routes, tourist-spots related apps, hotel booking and restaurant recommendation apps. And this is the folder they will go after I downloaded them.
- Lifestyle - This folder has all the apps that has something to do with my lifestyle like recipes, sleep sounds, work out, shopping and menstruation/ pregnancy tracker. I only have one game in my phone so instead of creating a separate game folder, I just placed my game in this folder too.
- Reading - I love reading so I obviously have a separate folder for it.
- System - This has pre-installed applications that I rarely use. They are not totally useless to me but I rarely use or need them.
- Etc. - Another folder that contains pre-installed applications that I NEVER EVER use and applications that I can't quite figure out which category they fall so I put them in "etc." folder.
- Google - Any android user knows that an android phone comes with a bunch of pre-installed apps developed by Google. They are not totally useless to me too, but not that useful either. In fact, I very rarely use them.
I would love to share what specific applications I have in every folder that I mentioned above but I will talk about them in a separate post because I have soooo much mobile apps to tell you. This post will probably take forever if I put everything in just one blog post entry. Watch out for it.
'Til then, see yah!
