A Day Late And A Dollar Short

I got to be honest: I didn’t like the book when I was still at the first 5 chapters of it. I even almost gave up reading that I thought of giving away the book and not include it in my collection…. good thing I’m kinda patient and waited till I reached the middle part of the book where I thought the story will start brewing good. Luckily,I guessed it right.

Terry McMillan did a great job (as always) in creating a plot about a typical black american family. She made the story straight to the point and damn frank. She was really good in changing perspective from one character to another without ever being biased of the character’s gender. Thumbs up to you Terry :)

My favorite character (SPOILER ALERT!) is Paris. She’s more like me (or I’m more like her) than any other character in this book. We are both feeling responsible for growing up perfect and careful. Like we can’t risk having a good time if it means possibility of a mistake. But then I learned too with this book that you can’t enjoy life without risk… and that I shouldn’t let that sense of responsibility make me stiff and boring. GO OUT AND HAVE A LIFE! Just don’t forget about your priorities.

Bought this book at BookSale for a very cheap price and finding out that the story is really good makes me such a happy reader. Find and get your copy. This one’s really good. :)

'Til then, see yah!

ABOUT AZZY

Hi there stranger.
My name's Azenith which I constantly change the spelling to AZZYNITH when using it in the internet. My alter ego name is THINEZA. That's actually just my real name spelled backwards 'xcept for the 't' and 'h'.

Happily married, a mother, bookworm, photography enthuasiast, music lover, cat owner, koreanovelas sucker, a frustrated cook-watercolorist-calligraphist-video editor-graphic artist-writer-journalist and a bullet journal junkie. Too many frustrations huh? Well I'm just gon'na laugh all these frustrations off. HAHA! (READ MORE)
